Many wonderful things have happened in the summer 2015 :-)

I am so sorry that I simply have not taken the time to write for a while. Forgive me, so much for that!
Instead, I summarize the whole summer in a single blog post I think :-)

So, here we go!
The weather was not the best this summer.
Even so came Ostersund four in Sweden in terms of the number of sunny days since midsummer :-)

One day I ran with a few good friends who wanted to have a little talk about technique and inspiration. Obviously, I put up!
I got them to spring up along the old, very steep road up to Frösö tower without going one step. You were so cruel!

See, that's what it's all about! Get inspire and give inspiration! All in the Easy, Light and Smooth way.
My awesome friends Matts, Angelica and me after our little hilly run!
Think we could do another lap ;-)

24 to 27 July, I was having and led a team of St.Olavsloppet. The same race as me and a friend ran 330 km in a two-person teams in 2014. This time the team consisted of refugees from including Syria and Eritrea and that we could only run from the Norwegian border and in Sweden. This is because they did not have a visa to be in Norway, which is not in the EU.

It was probably the most enjoyable races I have ever participated in. Not only because they were incredibly talented.

They were integrated with the Swedes. They got to see a very beautiful part, the Swedish mountains of Sweden. They received huge accolades when we reached the goal in Östersund then they all ran together into the goal. Media interest was huge! I am so proud and happy for them!

Even believe that I shed a tear when they said it was the two happiest days for them since they came to Sweden :-)
Nigus and Esam waiting for their run at the borderline to Norway.
A great guy from Eritrea running for the team. I think even he won his stretch! :-)
Our camp at Ristafallet. There´s a great waterfall just beside it.
In the evening we did food, listen to music and played soccer.
Me and Elton has just arrived to Ostersund with all of the others in the team
"Hej Främling - Inlöparna" (Hello Stranger - In-runners).

A cake? Well, I also did celebrate my 54th birthday this summer of 2015. It also means 46 years of running. I do not celebrate that much but it was so great because my wife, three kids and Elton was home to share the cake made of strawberry and cream :-)
The great, homemade, cake!
Of course I gave  myself as many km of running as I wanted!

Well, I look like a bear but the real one has been scratching just before me.
Out on one of my runs in the wilderness ;-)
It's a wonderful world out there
and I really LOVE to be out there :-)
My place..
I´m not only a runner friends. I do love motorbikes as well. For me Indian is the greatest. Driving my bike is like running. Same kind of freedom but perhaps much more dangerous I guess.
My Indian Scout 2015 to the left and my friends Big Chief 1946 to the right.
Well, the mountains in the back..
Think this was the last warm day of summer 2015.

If running for a very long time you have to eat and drink all the way. Up north in Sweden the roads are pretty straight. No frills here! I´ve got some pretty straight loops to run I´ll guess.

This year I was the hare at 2h-runners in the half marathon here in Ostersund.
It was one of the greatest days this summer.

Here I am!
Where it all begun. It was here I started to run 46 years ago.
I was so thrilled about this! A lot of great friends and a lot of memories :-)
48 hours..
Because of a painful hip, Achilles tendon and calf muscle I had to stop after "only" 24 hours ;-)
Which now are fixed. I ran hills after just four days and felt almost nothing in my legs. Strange?!
A happy "Flexirun" on "his" track!
Hillrunning in Stockholm just 4 days after 24 hours of running ;-)
It's so beautiful around where I live. I just love to be out there in the wilderness to see all the animals, views and other stuff. Just being out and running is like yoga for me I think.

Doesn't matter what kind of weather it is. Beautiful anyway!

Sometimes the sun is shining and so am I.
Always :-)

Well, since I always have delivered a special message. Then I will not let you down this time either: Never pass by anyone without a smile and a Hello! Perhaps it's going to be a special day for both you and the one you meet. Please try some kindness!

Springtime but..

..still so cold and rainy! It is the coldest May in 10 years here! Hopefully it turns and becomes sunny and warm again soon. Well, it is clear that it will hot what it suffers. I never give up hope!

In addition, I had a feeling that there was any infection in the body a long time, but it is as well not broken out.

After the Stockholm Marathon on May 30 broke it though out with a vengeance. I got a bad cold and now it sat in 5 days. However, it feels better and better every hour now.

I have of course not been running now when I'm sick. Instead, I cured myself with tea mixed with ginger, lemon and honey. Seems to be a dunderkur (Swedish for "hefty regimen").

View from a run in the mountains.
I saw one big moose :-)
My new Hoka One One Huaka is a Great shoe and VERY comfortable!
I will use them in my 48h run July 31 to August 2.
Pics from Stockholm Marathon 2015. That's me in the blue sweater and white cap. On the right my daughter Ingrid (orange)

"Elton The Dog" really know how to relax between two workouts..
..and I do my best ;-)
Well, as you all understand now one only can rest when sick! Just lay back and relax.

In two weeks only there will be a team with refugees set up in St.Olavsloppet. Same race, a 330 km long relay, I ran with a friend last summer. However, we will only be using the two last days in Sweden this time. Going to be very interesting!

Well, as always try a little smile and a Hello! to people You meet out there :-)

The weeks before a marathon..

..I usually cut down on training. There is still nothing you can do to improve so short a time just around the run. Better to take it easy, jog easily and begin to focus mentally on that it will be fun!

To implement long runs is more in the head than in the legs.. Remember that!

I have run quite a lot for some time now. The body begins to slowly speak up. Two weeks ago, I had little sense of an Achilles tendon. No, I do not want to say that I immediately was damaged but the body simply wanted to take it easy. By listening to my body and really cut down on my running so will all the destructive practice now instead be converted to both physical- and mental energy.
You see, running is so much more than just using your legs. The run itself is just a tool to get the body at a certain load. It is then, when the body is recovered, as you shall live and enjoy!

Well, friends! Another part is probably the very best part. At least a very important one. That´s the social part. Never forget to give if you want to get something. It's so easy to smile and say Hello!

Four days of running and weight training in nature's own gym..

..was all that was needed to build both the mental and physical side of my body. I just LOVE this place on Mother Earth!

Below you can see pictures from my leave in the mountains with comments. This time I will focus on how important the mental part is in the running. Yes, the physical is also very important, but what shall I do with a fit body when I do not dare use it?

How to scientifically doing to get the chemical energy stored in the body in an optimal way to get the forces acting to move us in any direction. Ideally, as with as little energy loss as possible.

That's RUNNING!
Elton on the front of the cottage in the mountains and to the left you can see where I collect my water from the source. Very good water!

Elton on his fur checking things out before our hill-running :-)

Picture taken from the Old Road on my running out in the wilderness.
One lucky runner in the right environment.
Yes, there are moose, reindeer, deer and bear in this area.. ;-)
Poop from bear.
Easy to see because of  last year berries in it.
Well, only thing You can do is to... RUN! :-D
Just after the meeting with a rather large moose
I took a break in the sun by the river and just enjoyed what nature had to offer.
As you can see, it's not exactly like running on a running track.
It's called the virgin forest!
When running in places like this You´re not ONLY exercise physically
but also MENTALLY.

This is just a couple of km from where I ran  the day before.
Mr Bear came to say Hello! ;-)
(zoom and You´ll see)
After my runnings I always light up the sauna and relax a bit.
Yes, it´s a little snow there on the ground

Some of the roughly 150 year old farm right
next to the little cottage I live in when I'm in the mountains and runs :-)
A great view from the local area.
Left: Timber Tongs is the only tool in nature's own gym.
Right: Well, profit after having played a little bit with my chainsaw ;-)

Flexirun happy in the gym!
I´ve said it before and I will keep on saying it. Try a smile and a Hello! to the one You meet!

The road towards the race..

..goes sometimes early in the morning.

Here, where I live pretty far north on earth is it that winter sun can be up just a few hours. Summertime is the reverse applies and the sun can be up almost 24 hours :-)

This fact makes it a little less tiring to run in the morning in summer compared to winter. You often see deer, birds and other animals. The sun is shining and you do not have to dress so hot anymore.
Well, not many people was here in the morning.
A couple of kilometer warmup and then some great hills ;-)
Last Wednesday (6th May) I was running a race (5K) together with the refugees and about 350-400 others for Childhood Cancer. The called it "Fuck Cancer". Ok with me and Elton who also ran ;-)

One of the refugees from Eritrea (Africa) did run into 2nd place just under 18 min. GREAT done!!
Some of them are not runners but still the got a great technique! Wonderful to look at :-)
One of the refugees.
Happy as usual and having fun :-)
Warm-up before run!
Me (right) with a great friend of mine out running hills!
Deadly... ;-)
Flexirun in action!
The day after with other great runners.
Pict from the turn and still happy!
16,3 km when done.
Hey Master!
When are we gonna run?
Never ever forget to smile and sy Hello! to people You meet! :-)
