Just never give up! I decided to blog again. :-)

After so many years of sickness I now may say I'm alright again. I do not want to write about it anymore now but will instead focus on upcoming runs. Sure, I'm turning 60 years this summer, but it is said that without experience it will usually be a little more difficult.

I am very far from the physique I had until Christmas 2015 when I could basically run "any distance". Runnings of almost 60 km sometimes and  both two and three running sessions in one day.

I almost lived running..

Where I live!

Well, You may think, what now then? Am I going to stop running? No, I will not stop running but I will run in another way perhaps. What I mean is I will not log and I will not share in Facebook or Twitter anymore.
I have discovered that many people think it is more important what others think than what the run itself is for themselves. A little tragic I must say..

My friend and running buddy always!

Just so calm and life-giving!

Well, in the seventies (1970-1979) I was a "skater". Below I´m 60 years old and in the Täby skatepark with my grandchild Tage. We had so much fun and I just loved it! It´s NEVER to late living right now but it might be to late to do it tomorrow.

Me and Tage in the skatepark.

In the bowl again.
Well, not like in the 70:ies but..

Me and my grandchild Tage

I still try to help my friends from Kenya even if I have had some tough 6 years now but I really think I have come out on the other side. Not as the same man but.. still a man.

I have decided to continue running and try to help my friends in Kenya as much as I can.

Emanuel Naibei won the Lagos City Marathon 2021 in 2:11:37

I have also decided to work only 80 % for 2 years and the n go down to 60 % which means I can live and be with my lovely dog Malte. Yes, and run a little more and.. just be!

I also must say I don´t use Facebook (Meta) or Twitter anymore!

Take care out there and never forget to:

Take a stand

How difficult is it to take a stand? We make about 2,000 decisions, big and small, every day without even reflecting on it.
On the other hand, when we are faced with a slightly "larger" decision, one can feel a certain anxiety and worry that the decision in question will be "right". I think it's a bit strange because I always try to make my decisions on some kind of scientific basis. Sometimes it gets good and sometimes.. better!

I made a decision as a mathematician a few days ago. It must be said that it was not just a purely scientific decision, but it was about some subjective things that are thought as well. I left Facebook! Exactly why I did it has to do with a long time of thinking.

Our brain only works with one thing consumption, which means that it is almost never allowed to rest in this digital world we now live in. Only ONE generation of 100,000 generations is born with a mobile phone in hand.. So most generations have a brain that has been developed for 200,000 years to NOT multitask.

That is one of the reasons why I want to limit my digital use. I want to get my dopamine from REAL events and feel that I do not have to share them with others because then it will be more or less a compulsion to go out with my dog Malte on the runs.

I KNOW that mathematical algorithms are NOT better than human thoughts. Possibly AS good and above all FASTER at analyzing many variables at the same time but once again - NOT BETTER! I do not want to be analyzed and calculated on the Internet or at least LIMIT the whole thing as much as I can.

So I could stop using digital and social aids, you might think. I agree but start by limiting myself. I still do run but not as far or much as I use to do. I think, once as a mathematician, I have come into a new dimension in a way.
Where my own feelings are worth more than social points on FB, Twitter, Instagram etc. The real world is more than enough for me!
Take care out there and:

Keep smiling!
Keep saying HELLO to strangers!
Keep LOOKING AROUND the corners!
Keep DARE to DARE!

STEADFASTNESS

Well, now it was a while ago again but it does not stop to say good evening anyway.
So "Good evening" to you!

It starts to get better with the running. For each session it goes a little easier and it is probably the regularity and that I do not drive harder than my body can handle. Yes, also the "hare" Malte (dog) then of course. Very nice and faithful running buddy I must say.

"Polar-burn"
Polar-burn.

According to some, the sun has been a little invisible, but I still think I can see a small "Polar burn" (running-watch) on my arm anyway. You understand!
In addition, it has been inspiring to go on the tours almost every day because it is so incredibly nice to take a wood-fired sauna afterwards. Can be recommended if you get the opportunity at some point.
On one of my trips in "bear-land" I passed a nice "häbre" (old hayloft) which was apparently built in the 17th century at some point. They seemed to be able to make locks even at that time. Fantastic!

Door from 17th century.

The three pictures I share with you have, separately, some to do with a very important word: STEADFASTNESS.

There is an Afro-American proverb that says:
"Keep going!" and say some I can think.

"To be steadfast is to be steady, enduring and trustworthy (think back in the pictures). We remain true to our intentions no matter what happens.
Firmness grows every time we take on a challenge. It strengthens the will to continue when Life tests our determination. We choose a path and keep a steady course.
We are faithful and tolerant of those we love. We commit to something no matter how long it may take. We are like a steady ship in a storm. We do not allow ourselves to be broken or driven off course.
We are riding out the storm. "

By the way, today I decided to run the Stockholm marathon virtually.
I do it on Saturday 5/9 with type 16 laps around Lillsjön. Right now 15 km is going well so.. why wouldn't a couple of 15 km more do.
How was it now "..steady, enduring, trustworthy..".

Have a nice Thursday and be grateful for the gift of perseverance.

It gives you strength to endure!

The great sauna.

Keep smiling!
Keep saying HELLO to strangers!
Keep LOOKING AROUND THE CORNER!
Keep going!

Everyone has a choice!

Everyone has a choice!

Well, yes I do think so. Maybe not everywhere but here, in Sweden, where I live everyone do have a choice by their own.

I've been a part of Facebook for ten years now where the last four have been pretty tough. I also have understood that many people have benefited from what I formulated with both text and image but despite this, I now choose to become inactive on Facebook.

However, I will not put out of the digital world completely but instead I will write on my blog, for writing, that is something I have almost always done. I just like it!

The difference between a blog and Facebook is that it is not as stressful and that it instead becomes a bit more of a diary where I can write about my days and dreams and I have no expectations of any readers really because it is only for me myself.

Below I will give You some pictures of what it is all about for me. I love running but the last four years I have not been able to ran as I used to do in 47 years.

I can only see, understand and respect it!

I have a place up in the mountains and I realize it is only there I feel free when out running with my dog Malte. I have an unlimited view, exiting meetings and a great peace in my body and mind.

MINDFULNESS

After a fairly physical leave, I am back in the home's safe corner. Feel good!
On my Big Lake Run 2013
One way try to try out Conscious Presence in the real life.
I've written a bit about different words and it will continue for a while. Until I finish so to say ..

Last week's words, wisdom, was nice, and before that there was perseverance that applied. This week I will use a word (or rather two) a little in the time that I will try to live up to as best I can.

The word is "Conscious Presence" or as it is usually written and pronounced: MINDFULNESS
On my own.
This means that I should try to live with consciousness and reflection in thoughts, words and actions. Waking up to the world around us, we experience feelings and moods fully and are extra aware of the needs of others.
Refuse to hurry myself. Living attentively can make life a little easier by helping me get distance to feelings.
Anger must turn into justice!
I will seek joy instead of desire and develop my interior and pay attention to the homework Life teaches me.
Presence provides peace of mind.
Just do it!
Daodejing (Tao Te Ching) is the oldest and most famous record of the daoism, and you can read the following:

"Can you cleanse your inner vision so that you see nothing but the light? Can you take a step back from yourself and thereby understand everything?"

I am grateful for the gift of conscious presence. It constantly makes me present.
Great Lake Run was my run around the lake
where I come from (222,5 km or 138,256 miles)

Well, you choose for yourself what you want to do but never forget:

Dare to laugh!
Dare to say hello! to a stranger!
Dare peek around the corner!
Dare to be present!

WISDOM

THANK YOU from the deepest part of my heart!

Everything except what is not supposed to hold when running 42195 meters WITHOUT actually more than keeping the body up with something that resembled running 😉
But I am pleased to be able to run the first 25 kilometers completely unobstructed and in a fairly easy way. That it then became a powerwalk and "intervals" to get to the goal was just a tactic that I took in the need ..
So, therefore, I am pleased to know exactly where the body is physically and what is required is exactly the word of the week.
Well, then the basic training begins for next year's marathon in Stockholm. 🙂

In Stockholm I celebrated Kenya's Independence Day (1/6) by running a marathon today (6/6) I celebrated my own country's national day with 10 km of running. 10K is enough in Sweden.

The word of the week is WISDOM and it is our guardian's guardian. It gives us clarity of thought and a deeper understanding.
Try to use your judgment before your impulse actions (dare, however, look around the corners).
Wisdom gives us the maturity and patience required to make sustainable choices.
Find knowledge, reflect and then open up the inspiration!
Wisdom can take us farther away than the very thought, to a deeper insight and knowledge.

I'm going to be grateful for the gift of wisdom for the rest of the week.

As a winner of DM (district championships) in M55 last fall
a friend received the medal to me just now..

Dare to laugh!
Also dare say a hello! to strangers!
Dare peek around every corner!
Dare to trust your wisdom!

NOBILITY

Good Sunday evening for all of you!

The week that went was tough but also nice and fun.

I have run but not as much as before, which actually doesn't matter much. I have chosen not to set up any direct training goal for marathon in Stockholm on June 1. Only that I should run may suffice.
The running I have done with Malte has felt good and it just goes better and better. What I lost in fitness, I must take back with experience and forehead instead 😉

In addition, I have not only run but also rolled a little with my motorcycle. Among other things up to the annual Springmeet farmhouse which is a nice arrangement with lots of bikes and cars from all periods (The pictures are from a running race with Malte and partly from Springmeet 2019).
The Castella in Brunflo
#whereIcomefrom
Word of the week:
Nobility is to be true to our true values as spiritual beings. It is to live up to the virtues, the divine treasure that is within us. Treat yourself and others with dignity and respect. Speak and act with love. Choose the high moral path no matter what it costs.
An old, but beautiful, shed.
If others try to downgrade you, remain steady in consciousness of your true value. Do not choose the least resistance law but live a principled life.

Live the good life!
From a run up in the forrest with Malte.
Green but all trees do not have leaves yet.
I do not only run.Sometimes I do "roll"..
I run my Indian Scout too!
I am grateful for the gift of nobility. It is my moral compass!
