Mars...

.. is in Roman mythology generally considered the Roman god of war.

I have been fighting for 55 years without resistance worse than having been able to master them. The last three years, however, have been so tough that before Christmas 2018, I had to enroll myself.
This was due to post-traumatic stress caused by all the stored thoughts I carried on after the blood infection I suffered.

Well, today I feel much better again, even though I don't run more than maybe 20% of what I once did each year..
During these three years I have still won a DM in marathon and have had another three marathons in Stockholm with my children so I am quite satisfied anyway.

One thing is that I started to accept, more and more, that I may not be able to run as I always could. It goes slower and right now I have a little boring inflammation in my right foot so I can't run for now.

Instead I have been doing som other nice things. Me and my wife went down to Stockholm to see our children and our grandson. We also went for a historical walk with a guide in the old part of the town (Gamla stan).
Hell of a weather but so interesting with history.
Today, 2019-03-29, I had my last conversation with my therapist. She is really good and I believe that you can't handle everything yourself. Sometimes you simply have to take help from experts.

Well I do feel alright once again and slowly I will build up my body for longer and longer runnings.

So nice to be out there again!

What has happened since last time?

Well, not much but I really think I feel better which is the most important for me.  Last Saturday and Sunday I felt a little pain in my right achilles. Well, a lot of work on my step-machine and a lot of heel raises. One more week or so with some Aloe Vera ointment will do the trick I think.
Where I come from..
Me, my middle-daughter and my son will run the Stockholm marathon this upcoming summer (June 1). It will be, as always, so fun to run that race.
No, I'm not running to do a specific time anymore. The social part is so much more for me.

I'm on with my running even if it's just about 20% of how much I ran 3 years ago. Before the kidney stone and the huge blod infection. Well, if you're an ultra runner you got patience.

I think, even if been a bit low mentally, from post traumatic stress for about 3 month now I must say I'm doing a pretty good progress. That's one thing I'm happy for and must thank my family and all my friends for. Without friends things are much, harder I can say!

"Friends" are much more than humans. It can be a dog, the nature or just feelings. I believe in human mental strength. There is so much force in it that we neither know nor really master. We, learn as long as we live!

Once again I want You all to dare a smile, a hello and to peek around the corners.

No matter where I go I will find me!

"There you go!" was my thought of the day when out running with my dog Malte.

When a dam breaks, a tidal wave is often formed. It basically rages EVERYTHING in its path.
After a while the wave settles and the calm comes back but with the difference that most of what has been is in disarray ...

Most of the time, most things can be rebuilt. So even in my case! It won't be, or will look like before, but it will be something new instead.

Today I ran around 1.5h with Malte up in the forest. I don't care about time or speed. Only I ran and managed more and more every day. Even a Ferrari runs on gear one and two ..

We met some pieces out there. Both people on walk, horses and riders as well as a dog owner. Of course we said Hello! to each other.
Also, we smiled! Something I learned is that even if you are smiling on the outside you might not do it on the inside ... and vice versa. Today I actually smiled on both sides.

I also chose to peek, and choose roads, around corners. Although a road I walked on three years ago almost led me to eternity and transformation into star dust.

Then I would like to thank all those who in any way helped me on my way through these three years. Family, hospital staff, friends, animals and nature. Great hugs to you!

Continue to dare a SMILE!
Continue to say HELLO! to strangers!
Continue to PEEK around the corner even though it can be a bit exciting.
Dare ACCEPT and RESPECT!
Dare to venture!

Easy, Light and Smooth my friends!

Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year!

I do hope the very best for You all!

One wish I have is that anyone who can have the opportunity to have their own dreams come true. Big and small doesn't matter. A dream is a dream!

#7Keveryday

Yes, it's my new so-called  hashtag as it's called in cyber language.
At least 7 km (4.35 miles) every day is what matters to me now, and Malte, my dog, stays in most of the workouts.
Malte on one of our walks.
As you probably already noticed, winter is here in northern Sweden again. What you can see of the sun is basically what it's like right now. It goes up 9:32 and down again 14:19 ...
Because of the darkness, less vitamin D is produced in the body, so I eat just vitamin D in pill form every day. And some omega 3 and 6 also.

I'm not vegetarian or do follow any special food concepts what so ever. However, I eat a little less meat and more vegetables, only dark bread and water.

Just water is completely natural for the body and the drink that I think is most effective in thirst. Most often, the water I usually wear with my rides. Wintertime, I usually have hot blueberry soup with me and it contains sugar but just blueberries are otherwise full of antioxidants. Probably most of all food scientists use to say.

I can take a glass of wine sometimes but usually I drink the non-alcoholic option if I can choose. And choose is something we all can choose to do. Always!
From the top of the hill.
I have not written on Facebook or Twitter as much as before. It has its causes. The past three years, with consequent kidney problems and severe blood poisoning as a consequence, have affected me in retrospect.

No human being is more than human! It does not matter that I ran 221.5 km (137.6 miles) in one stretch. That I was part of a 2-man team on a four-day relay of 330 km (205 miles).

Physically, the body is recovering very quickly, but when the reality comes closer, it can be difficult mental. Yes, very mentally.

I choose to talk about it instead of not. It seems that it is better and work fine for me. Also running is a very good medicine.
I have set one goal for the summer. To run a turn again and I actually think I'll start writing a bit more often and share both FB and Twitter for those who want to.

Easy, Light and Smooth is not only physical but also mental!

Behind bars but on my way out!

Behind bars but on my way out..
"What kind of headline is that?" You might think. Well, I have been home sick for a week now but today I felt pretty ok I must say. To much thoughts, to much work, to much stress which is not good for anyone!
Beware when the pulse raises, the memory starts to fail and Your temper goes short. You only have ONE LIFE my friends!
Elton on one of our runs
But at the same time there is some positive things too. Every doctor I know always have, at least the last 3 years, told me that the worlds best medicine is... EXERCISE! So, that is why I´m running so much during this week from hell!

I have decided to run 7 km (4,35 miles) every day. That is my medicine! Physically I will be better and mentally I will be good.

Always smile!
Always say Hello! to strangers!
Always look around all the corners!
Always dare to dare!

It's not always as it appears on the outside..

..It is also not sure that it can be measured. Nor do I think it's good to keep things inside Your head.
The body consists of a physical part that goes fairly quickly to build up, and a mental part that can take considerably longer time to build up.
Me and a good friend on a nice run.
On January 8, 2016, I entered the emergency room after about 2 months of soreness in the abdomen. I thought in the long run that there was a muscle or late problem.
It turned out that there was a strong blood poisoning due to the fact that a small kidney stone had made a hole where the ureter enters the kidney. Urine had leaked into the blood and blood into the kidney. No, that was not good simply.
Malte, my running pal, "stretching" after another running.
Everything above is most about physical things. It is precisely the physical, most often measurable, as it is most written and talked about. Not if you have a physical or mental depression. A little strange, I think.
It is said that faith can move mountains. It must mean that mental is important! So why not pay attention to it more one might think.
Well, just so beautiful!
Ok, why do I write about physical and mental health, You might think. After been sick I have recovered my body pretty well. But I can sometimes feel tired and stressed about small things and that is probably because my brain do have so much to "take care" of. It will be better but I have to be patient. Still I feel positive and I also feel good when running!

Always go Easy, Light and Smooth!
